Food saver rolls, also called foodsaver rolls are designed to be used with a vacuum sealer and together offer the perfect way to store left over and opened foods. They come in various widths with the most common being 8″ rolls and 11″ rolls.
The advantage they have over foodsaver bags is that they are ready to cut into custom lengths, meaning you always have the right size for the foods you need to store.
There are a number of different manufacers such as Seal-a-Meal, Vacuseal, FoodSaver and Tilia being popular and offering a large range of different products for the home market.
One of the big advantages of vacuum food sealers (which you use foodsaver rolls with) is that the shelf life of food increases dramatically when you remove air from the packaging, often increasing as much as four times.
